A pair of incredibly decorative large solid plaster sphinx, in the manner and style of 19thc England and Provence, France.

Appearing to be copies of Coade stone sphinx at Milton Hall which were installed around 1790.

These sculptures were a huge part of the Renaissance revival around 1850-1870.

Great for an entrance or either side of a doorway, hallway, staircase etc.
